Спасибо классный разбор текста, было бы классно если для всех текстов был аудио файл начитаный реальным носителем, и с нормальной скоростью речи, есть сайты которые предоставляют в трех вариантах по скорости (level 1-3), для изучающих язык с разным уровнем (3 level) это речь носителя языка с нормальной скоростью речи, также если сайт имеет возможность приложить разные варианты произношения US и UK было бы не плохо, я лично предпочитаю американский английский, тот сайт, которым упомянул выше является с британским произношением, поэтому я лишь там читаю, набираю слованый запас.
Спасибо еще раз интузиастам за проделанную работу)

As far as I can judge, most of users of this site not so good in improving their grammar, similar situation with orthography.

Though, in the paragraph “Мозг должен работать в два раза интенсивнее, чтобы понять разговор и заполнить пустоты….” I would have used the word “пробелы” instead of “пустоты”. and the next one “считают надоедливым громкие разговоры …” “надоедливыми”, but it is irrelevant.. Good job!

“is” refers to “overhearing”, but not to “conversations”

I do think that articls like this are helpfull for learning English. Thanks a lot!
But I noticed couple mistakes:
“Why overhearing mobile phone conversations is so annoying”. – There is plural in this sentence. So, there must be “are”, not “is”.
I’ve found similar mistakes in other articles.
Is it informal speech?
